Discussion Question #1:
Describe some of the technological advances in telecommunications and transportation that have impacted global business in the last decade? 
Well from what I understand of the roles in which technological changes take place, I would have to say that Internet or the World Wide Web has helped aide the advances of both telecommunications and transportation a great deal. According to (Chapter 1, p.14), “Telecommunication is creating a global audience. Transportation is creating a global village.” Telecommunications:

Well I would have to say that there are many newer communication styles over the past decade. Such as the available high speed internet services via satellite, DSL, and cable. The speed depends upon the company in which you (the consumer) choices as an internet provider. “Over the past 30 years, developments in satellite, optical fiber, and wireless technologies, and now the Internet and the World Wide Web (WWW), have revolutionized global communications” (Chapter 1, p. 14).

There are many cell phone companies who offer “smartphones” that allow people to access the Internet for emails, and other communicational sites. Cell phone companies offer many different applications for these “smartphones” that allow people to converse quicker and easier from anywhere instantly. Another added technology that helps business men and women enormously, is the web cam features that allows companies to converse or have meetings via Internet connections across the world. This type of technology allows companies to cut back on the amount of time employees have to travel. “Viewed globally, the Web is emerging as an equalizer. It rolls back some of the constraints of location, scale, and time zones. The Web makes it much easier for buyers and sellers to find each other, wherever they may be located and whatever their size. It allows businesses, both small and large, to expand their global presence at a lower cost than ever before” (Chapter 1, p....
