Disadvantages About Social Networking
More than 70% teenagers know and use most of the social networking website(s). They use these websites to make new friends and share their activities [e.g. pictures and thoughts etc]. Even most of the businesses are turning to social media for advertising and customer relations these days, but how can an individual foresee these social networking sites's threat(s).
I do agree that may be advantages are more but it depends….. what kind of data and information you are putting into these websites. Sometimes it may create trouble(s) for an individual, while everything is public and website knows most of the things about them. Even if you put these data inside the application's private section, yet your data is not 100% safe and secure. I am not against to these websites but want to explain that how it may create troubles for an individual.
I have made a small kind of research and find a list of the social networking sites disadvantages / threats:
1.) Everything Is Public – The nature of social networking sites is that they are ‘well’ social, so things get shared. And one small mistake can morph into a public relations nightmare. Specially in case of an individual (Male / Female).
2.) Negative Publicity – People really like to use social networking sites as a place to express their frustration and disapproval of a business that they feel has wronged them in some way. Being on the receiving end of this negative publicity can have dire consequences, so it’s important to keep your customers happy and respond quickly to any issues that someone does publicize.
3.) Time Consuming – Social networking sites can suck you in and before you know it you’ve spent hours looking at pictures, videos, and reading clever posts. It’s important to remember when using social networking sites for business purposes that you stay on task and only spend time on the things that help your business. ‘If it doesn’t make money, it doesn’t make sense [cents]!’
4.) Data Insecurity & Incorrect

There are three different social media networks that I have used ,still use, and one that I have not used myself. MySpace is one of the ones that really got social media networking to where it is now. I used to use MySpace to talk to friends, share pictures, listen to music, and share my blogs. These were the main functions that I used MySpace for. MySpace was one of the first big steps that lead other social media networking where it is. Being able to interact with your friends and family in a virtual world is a big success to being able to so be many places at once. Facebook is another social media networking tool that took the world by surprise and has also took over MySpace users. With Facebook you are able to share photos, express what is on your mind with your friends and family, write messages between you and others, and stay connected with people all over the world. Facebook came and conquered most of, if not all, social media networking web sites. The main thing that separated Facebook from any other social media web site is that it was made for college students. Little by little it became so popular that everyone wanted to be a part of this network. Businesses really took advantage of the social networking site for advertising. With so many advertising competitors on the network, it is hard for users not to take advantage of the products advertised. Businesses even have commercials that tell to “like” them on Facebook to ensure the attention of the social media users. The latest installment to the social media networking web sites that I have not used is Twitter. Twitter is different in its own way for various reasons. Twitter allows people to, share their posts or “tweets” with all of their friends at once or certain people that want to see your posts. Everything that you can do in the other two social networking sites is done completely different in the Twitter world. When you add friends they are either…

On the flip side, social media has some drawbacks. Using multiple platforms of social media can be extremely time consuming. Companies often need to hire employees to work specifically on social media marketing. These employees have to constantly be posting updates, and responding to consumers. For the companies that are present internationally, their social media never stops. Even national companies that use social media struggle with keeping up with all time zones. Using social media can also be really risky. It opens up doors for angry consumers to complain, and bash at their company.…
