ACDS is pleased to partner with the Rogers Healthcare Group and the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Distribution Management in the production of this annual report on community pharmacy trends and insights. The words transformation and evolution aptly describe the sector over the past year, and will for the foreseeable future. Community Pharmacy 2011 reflects just how much has changed in a relatively short period of time and there’s still a long road to be travelled before pharmacy reaches a new equilibrium. CACDS and its members remain focused on making gains in pharmacy services reimbursement and driving efficiencies in the health care system to reduce costs and incent investments in innovation— critical factors in creating dynamic community healthcare hubs and achieving the sector’s full potential. Along the way we will support, encourage and showcase our leaders who are already demonstrating what the future holds for pharmacy in healthcare.

C

We will also provide authoritative commentary on the sector, such as the trends and insights presented in this report, which facilitate understanding and support for our efforts and aid in achieving our goals. On behalf of CACDS, I would like to thank all of those who contributed their time, information, knowledge and data to the production of Community Pharmacy 2011. Sincerely, Nadine Saby, President and Chief Executive Officer www.cacds.com
