My name is Yolanda S. and I am going to talk about Digital Technology and how it works through the telephone.
Slide two What is Digital Technology:
Digital technology is a base two process. Digitized information recorded in a binary code combination of the digits 0 and 1, also called bits, which represent words and images. Digital technology enables immense amounts of information to be compressed on a small storage device that can be easily preserved and transported. Digital technology also quickens data transmission speeds. It has definitely changed the way people communicate, learn, and work. The Digital telephone has been a major part of today’s society for many years. It has allowed us as individuals to communicate with other people without having the person in the same space as you.
Slide three- Who, What, and When it was invented:
The first digital phone that was ever made was by Martin Cooper in April of 1973 while working for the Motorola Company. The phone was called Motorola Dyna TAC 8000X. It was two pounds in weight and about a foot long. Even though Bell Laboratories was the first to develop the idea of the cell phone, Martin Cooper was the first to bring the cell phone about, but originally only military and businesses had access to them. Cell Phones came out to the world ten years later.
Slide four and five- Advantages of having a Cell phone:
The idea behind cell phones was conceived in the late 1940s. The idea for a phone that could travel with you was revolutionary, but scientist believed it was an achievable idea. The FCC didn’t in the beginning and would not allot enough radio spectrum frequencies to make the project work. When the FCC did finally cooperate AT&T led the way for researching, how to make cell phones a reality.
Cell phones have become a very popular commodity among adults and children. It allows for men, women, and children to be able to communicate with each when they are not able to be around.... [continues]
