12.0 SYSTEM FUTURE ENHANCEMENT
The waterfall model is a popular version of the systems development life cycle model for software engineering. Often considered the classic approach to the systems development life cycle, the waterfall model describes a development method that is linear and sequential. Waterfall development has distinct goals for each phase of development. Imagine a waterfall on the cliff of a steep mountain. Once the water has flowed over the edge of the cliff and has begun its journey down the side of the mountain, it cannot turn back. It is the same with waterfall development. Once a phase of development is completed, the development proceeds to the next phase and there is no turning back.
4.1 Requirements
User Requirements are written by the users with developer assistance, whereas the Systems Specification is written by the developers with user assistance .The User Requirements expresses the functionality required in terms of what the business wants to achieve, whereas the System Specification expresses the functionality in terms of what a software systems could deliver.
4.2 Analysis
In this analysis steps phase to determine where the problem is in an attempt to fix the system. This step involves breaking down the system in different pieces to analyze the situation, analyzing project goals, breaking down what needs to be created and attempting to engage users so that definite requirements can be defined.
4.3 Design
In the design phase is used to design functions and operations are described in detail, including screen layouts, business rules, process diagrams and other documentation. The output of this stage will describe the new system as a collection of modules or subsystems.
