Differences between two family values
A week ago, my professor recommended that I go to the art exhibition of Norman Rockwell. Truth be told, I knew nothing about Norman Rockwell other than he was a great painter of American history but that has changed since I saw his famous and deeply meaningful works during an art exhibition in Ulaanbaatar. I realized how much effort and spirit the author put into his paintings and as a consequence, most of his works genuinely touch the audiences’ hearts and souls. For example, when I saw his masterpieces during the exhibition, I felt like I was travelling through not only his personal life but also American history and tradition. Norman Rockwell excellently portrayed the various periods of American history through his work which made me feel that he was a very patriotic individual. I liked most the way he described people with wonderful combination of colors all in different shape and facial expression in the paintings. I want to talk about the painting called Going & Coming which really left remarkable impression on my heart. According to the painting definition, Rockwell showed an old-fashioned family gathering together to go to beach by American station wagon. The family described twice on the painting; one is going to the beach a full of energy, happiness, and smile on their face, another is coming from the beach with all satisfied image and different places inside of the wagon. Everyone in the two parts of painting look different except a man who is sitting back side of the wagon. As far as I understand that man is Norman Rockwell who is experiencing the historical chronological time of America so he can see the changes of the society and people earlier from the other people then show through his art. In support, he can see how society changes in accordance with life challenges but he as an author can see those changes from his painting as a passenger of the wagon, people’s face and their characteristics changed....
