Descriptive Writing- Brodie Dashwood
Rocking from side to side, I ran away from every problem I had in my life that was suffocating me. Now part of this included when I had to risk my life in need for that freedom I had been craving.
My journey began 20 years ago, 5 whole years before I was locked down in the world’s highest security prison. I was ordered to the place that I considered hell on earth contained by a wall the height of a sky scraper drenched in high voltage barbed wire. Still to this day I have no idea where I am placed in this corrupted world. Snatched from my last hiding place in Pennsylvania, dragged into a steel van, knocked out and there I was laying on a mattress that felt like it was made out of stone. Every wall, every ceiling looked as if a thousand crime scenes have taken place upon each surface. Every single second of every single day for the past 15 years I had been waiting.
Waiting for that one moment when I was ready to run, run and not stop until I had reached serenity. I had been dreaming, searching, and planning that moment from the minute this nightmare began. My journey has now begun; I have started my search for serenity. The serenity of a mental middle aged woman.
So let me take you back to my hometown, well my playground. My name is Anne-Marie; I have killed 10 repulsive men and 5 infuriating kids. Each one was a devil sent from God and placed in my presence for me to get rid of them. So I did. I killed, ran and hid; this was the cycle of my life until 15 years ago. Now all this fury lives inside of a 40 year old woman, with wrinkles on her face and faded freckles on her arms.
But this is my past and now I’m back to where I started, crawling. Except this time I’m crawling down a sewer pipe infested with the filth of humanity. In the distance I begin to see the ocean, as you know the prison they landed me in, of course was surrounded with water. The only way in and out was by boat. They had helicopters surrounding the prison,

Earlier, I had been hosed down and dressed in black and grey prison clothing, before being shackled and thrown into a German staff car. I was starved, only being fed some bread an hour earlier. I was worn out, barely able to keep my eyes open, barely able to fight for my life if the time came. I was weak. The memories of the dog being murdered in front of my eyes, the harsh voice of my father Clayton echoing loudly in my head, and the…

As I woke up I had an urging feeling that something unusual was going to happen. I decided that I would go find some Normies to enslave. I went to the usual Normie Hangouts (stuff like cool kid highschool parties.)and captured around 40-55 Normies. When I got home my dad notified me that Minh had come to my house and wanted me to come and see him A$AP ROCKY. I finally got to minh’s house there were 2 broken windows and his family was screaming. I asked what had happened, and was shocked by the story they told me. I went looking for minh in the direction that they told me his captor ran off in. His tracks led me to a sewer system that wasn’t there last time I walked by the area. I went into the sewers and ran for at least 1 mile. I saw Minh’s…

Finally, the day that I had waited for approached. I woke up that morning, anxious for the time to turn to one. When they gave me a room, I began preparing myself. The time was inching closer; and when it had arrived, I took medicine to make me fall asleep. A minute later I was taken into the OR. After waking up in my room after recovery, I was surrounded by my family.…

On the third day of the dark reckoning, Shayla Larson stood bound to the wooden post that supported her weak, weatherworn frame. Surrounded by piles of kindling, she fought hard to maintain consciousness as the scorching hot sun mercilessly beamed down upon her weary head. The dress she wore was tattered and torn, practically ripped off of her by the enraged mob of local villagers who shouted obscenities at her, wishing her a speeedy trip to hell. Although she managed to project a look of defiance, inside she bore the crushing weight of incredible sorrow, for her time upon earth was swiftly coming to an end. And like her two sisters before her, she would leave that place in a sea of fire.…

“Bro these guys are huge! We are about to get beat so bad. And look how fast they are.” Austin Blake was usually never intimidated. As the captain of the defense he was generally so stoic you would have thought there was no one he couldn’t beat. His attitude always inspired confidence and tenacity in us. He was our fearless leader. But today it seemed as if his lack of confidence was just a foreshadowing of yet another total mental and physical collapse of a team in the face of Westwood High school. Oh how I hated Westwood High School. The school that embodied scholastic excellence was also said to be the best high school football program in Central Texas. To me it seemed so unfair. How could they be good at everything? Where did we fit in?…

I'm submerged; submerged under the frigid water. I scan my surroundings and find an abundance of nothing. I'm stunned by the scene. The water, vividly clear blue, was motionless and breathe taking; but not a fish, plant or rock in site. 'How did I get here?'…

I kept myself on pace, past the sidewalk, and down the small hill. My feet shuffled faster, my breathing became heavier. I lowered my arms, lengthened my strides and prayed to God that he would give me strength. My lungs began to scream obscenities, my heart threatened to leave my chest, and I was sure my legs were planning my murder. I started to embrace the pain exploding through my body. I began work among the strains of physical feeling and pushing myself against my mental limitations. Each leaden step burnt my tired muscles and bore into my brain. An undesirable battle presented itself to me. Demands made themselves prevalent in my mind.…

I need to escape, I thought. I was tensed up. I waited for their point of weakness. It would be when they were lifting me up to put me in jail. I pretended to faint. I waited until I was being lifted into the cell. I drew my arm back and hit one guard in the gut. I swung my other arm back to hit the other guard in the nose. He dropped me and I ran. I saw buildings on either side of me. I heard the yells of the…

I was exposed to Crossfit while I was stationed at Ramstein AB, Germany. Most people take a look at a posted workout or video, of elite Crossfit athletes and get intimidated or scared. However, Crossfit brings something new to the table which is why many believe it is the better way of life and physical fitness. First, we will look at who started Crossfit and what it means. When you are trying to write a descriptive piece then it is best to describe everything in a very visual way to that would make the reader use it’s five senses. Using the five senses in a descriptive writing really elevates your piece and makes it stand out. I’m from a small city in northern Indiana where not many people visit even actually hardly at all. The city is off the coast of Lake Michigan which creates a slight cold breeze in middle of December and all of January. The city is called Michigan City, Indiana.…
