Demonstration Speech
Specific Purpose: To demonstrate to my audience how to make dirt pudding or as some people call it a garbage can desert.

Central Idea: By following many simple steps, making dirt pudding can be made easily in your home.

| |Another one to add to the list is dirt pudding. Who would have thought that a dessert that had dirt | |
| |and worms in it could be so delicious. | |
|Reveal Topic |Most of you, or some of you, may have already moved into your own place. Cooking and baking is a | |
| |useful thing because one day you’re not going to have your mom and dad to do these things for you. | |
| |I have watched my grandmother and my mom make several desserts over the years. And when I became old| |
| |enough myself, I began making many of my own. The results have always turned out very delicious. | |
| |Basically, if I can read and follow a recipe anyone can. | |

    As he worked with these hotel pastry chefs, he noticed that the hotel pastry chefs, (mainly European immigrants), were curious about decorating with pulled sugar. Because of this, Wilton decided to start a cake decorating class in 1929, teaching his own method for decorating with pulled sugar. In their dining room in Springfield, Illinois, he and his 4 kids, Mary Jane, Norman, Wesley, and Martha, taught mainly European pastry chefs. Wilton taught them his own method for cake decorating with pulled sugar, and they showed him how to decorate with buttercream icing.
