Dell’s Outsourcing

Dell was founded in 1984 by Michael Dell, twenty-six years ago. His philosophy was that by selling the computers directly to customers, he would be able to understand their needs and provide them with the best computer while cutting out the “middleman markups.”   Dell established a good customer-to-company relationship by being one of the first computer companies to send technicians to homes and repair customer’s personal computers.   In just four years after the company was founded, they had made $85,000,000.   In 1991 Dell announced its first laptop computer with color screen for $4,500.   In 1993 Dell was ranked one of the top five computer makers worldwide. In 1996 after launching www.dell.com, Dell earns approximately $1,000,000 per day in Internet sales.   By 2000, the earning grew to about $50,000,000 per day.   In 2005 Dell announced an employee expansion to adapt to growth.   They were hiring and training thousands of sales and support crew administer inquiries and expand its call center network.   (www.dell.com)
The late 90s was a period of international growth for Dell. They expanded their companies to new regions all around the world.   This proves Dell's capabilities to create industries around the globe. Dell opened its first international addition in the United Kingdom.   Eleven more international subsidiaries opened in the next four years.   In 1990 Dell opened a manufacturing center in Ireland to serve the European, Middle Eastern and African markets.   Manufacturing facilities also opened in Brazil to serve to the Latin American market.   In 1993 Dell expanded to Australia and Japan.   Demand doubled in China, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong in 1998.   Dell opened integrated sales, manufacturing and a support center in Xiamen, China making this their second manufacturing facility in China.   At the same time Dell announced the construction of new manufacturing...
