There are many advantages of having a college degree, compared to not having one. Three advantages of having a degree are having a job that you have passion for, money, and the people you are surrounded with. It is stressful for someone to know that they do not love their job, or stressed all the time about money. One of the advantages of having a college degree is that a college graduate will be better qualified to work in a field that he or she has a passion for , so in return one would be happy to get up and go to work to make a difference. The disadvantage of not having a college degree is that for the most part people would be picking jobs that don't interest them, but got them to have an income coming in. With this being the case most of the time it is not a career , but just a means to an end . Having a college degree means that when people graduate they are more likely to pick a job that they love and stay with it until they retire instead of bouncing from job to job over the years and having to start back at the bottom of the totem pole, it makes for a stressful live and confusion about where your future stands. Money also plays a huge role in the difference between having a college degree and not. I know one of the main reasons for going to college is so that one can provide better for their family and not live from paycheck to pay check. Not having a degree hinders someone from getting raises and bettering themselves compared to someone else that would be more suitable for the job. It also puts a lot of unnecessary stress on ones shoulders every day because they wonder how the bills will get paid or what they will have to sacrifice just to keep the bills paid. According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness over 640,000 people experienced homelessness on any given night in the U.S. and nearly 6% or them have college degrees.
