Deforestation is defined as the conversion of forested areas to non-forested land for use as: Timber to make fuel, construction materials and paper products. As well as to utilize the cleared land for arable land ( land that can be used to grow crops), pasture land, urban use or waste land.
This management and sustainability plan consists of developing an educational program that is geared towards making the public more aware and informed on the topic of deforestation.
Reforestation and recycling are two major factors in dealing with deforestation. If the public is diligent about recycling its paper products it would put a stop on the number of trees needed for this service. Also if loggers and developers re-planted a tree for each tree they cut down it would only benefit the area in the future.
The biggest challenge of managing deforestation is getting the public at large to understand the intricate importance of not only Central Florida's but the world at larges forests as well.
The lifestyle changes would be minimal and the personal and economic benefits would be maximum.
Deforestation results from the removal of trees with out sufficient reforestation, and results in declines in habitat and biodiversity, as well as quality of life.( ).
