Characteristics of God
Worksheet & Essay

For Part I of this assignment, you will look up the following passages in the Bible to learn about certain characteristics of God and how they shape the Christian Worldview. This is a brainstorming exercise, in which the listing of ideas is more important than writing. Consider using a bullet list or outline to discuss elements and sub elements. For Part II of this assignment, you will write an essay that summarizes what you have learned in Part One. Submit the Worksheet to the instructor by the end of Module 2.

Part I
Omniscience: The God of the Bible is presented as infinite and all inclusive in knowledge including foreknowledge of what is to come. God knows the past, present, and future equally. -------------------------------------------------

In the following passage, what characteristics of God are listed? -------------------------------------------------
Isaiah 40:26-33: “God is strong in power, he is a everlasting God he is the creator of the ends of the earth. He give power to the faint. Youth shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall. I f people wait on the lord they shall have wings such as eagles, they shall be able to run and not be weary”. It tells about how God has healing powers. God knows our heart because he is our creator. God know what we think . -------------------------------------------------

Omnipresence & Omnipotence: Although God is present everywhere in all places, we should not think of Him as possessing physical dimensions. God is spirit and demands that He be worshipped in spirit and truth (John 4:24). Omnipotence does not mean that God can do anything; God cannot lie, He cannot sin, He cannot change His nature or deny His holy character. He cannot create another being equal to Himself since He Himself is not a created being, but has always existed. He cannot cease to be God. But all that He promises and wills, He can and will do to completion. -------------------------------------------------

In the following passages, how is God described? What are the characteristics listed? -------------------------------------------------
Psalm 139:7-10: “ A spirit and presence where ever he may go be it heaven the sea or hell his hand will lead him and his right hand will protect him in all places where ever he may go.” This passage lets you know that God is in everything that we do his presence is everywhere no matter what the place may be. -------------------------------------------------

Jeremiah 23:23-24: It lets you know that God is a creator of all things he is a God at hand asking can someone hide himself secret in secret from him a person cannot , because God presence is everywhere. -------------------------------------------------

Acts 17:24-28: It tells how God is the creator of all living things he gave all things life also breath. We are Gods offspring. -------------------------------------------------
2 Timothy 2:13: God formed Adam and Eve
Hebrews 6:18: Tells how God has suffered being tempted that he is able to stop or succor people that are tempted. -------------------------------------------------
James 1:13-17: It explains that God sees faith without work is dead, being alone how can someone show or believe or believe in faith but there are no actions from a human that shows that faith . -------------------------------------------------
