In light of what you have learned about City Road, describe some of the inequalities on a street which you know

Differences and similarities transpire no matter which street you are in, not just between the interaction of people, but also material objects such as mobile phones, cars, street signs etc.   These differences can lead to inequalities which is my main focus of this essay.   I will be looking at inequalities in my street and contrasting them with those of City Road.  
The 3 points I will be looking into from my street are social (age), religion, economic and gender.   I will firstly give a short paragraph explaining the street I am focusing on and how it is similar or different to City Road.   Finally I will draw upon an inequality regarding the local council and major sewer works being carried out.
The street I am focusing on is Sunderland Road in Gilesgate.   This street is similar to City Road in respect of a variety of takeaways, pubs and other shops and also the difference of uses between day and night.   On studying my street I also came across differences/inequalities similar to those of City Road.
The first point to discuss would be the local pub.   This is a place that has changed owners over the years and was full of people of the older generation where they could go for a relaxing drink with their friends or on their own and in comparison to city road, the cafe owner has built a sense of community, (‘making social lives on City Road’, 2009, scene 3), which is reflected in my example of the pub. I got to know these regulars quite well over time, but as new owners came in and it closing for refurbishment, the regulars started declining and when it re-opened under a new name it was attracting students and younger crowds and most important it was recently raided for drugs.   I noticed these regulars? drinking elsewhere as I moved around the pubs trying to find somewhere better for my-self to have a quiet drink.   This demonstrates a social and...
