      When growing up as a teenager, you think you have an idea of what your life is going to become.   You set many personal and professional goals and expect it to happen as planned.   Somewhere along that timeline things change in your life and you have to reassess your goals.   In my lifetime, I have life and professional changes that have defined decisions that I make for my professional career.   I have some personal and professional goals I want to achieve and being a graduate student in Walden University Master’s of Information System Management program will help me achieve these goals.

      One goal I have is to receive a Master’s degree by the age of 33 to not only further my knowledge in information systems, but to encourage the importance of being a lifelong learner to my two sons.   Also, I want to become a professional in the field of information systems in our government.   With the advancement of technology and competition among companies, there is a high demand for information systems specialist in our society.   This program will develop and increase my knowledge in strategies and systems that will help many companies effectiveness.   Also, I will sharpen my global communication skills, which is needed in the ever growing global technological market.   Already I have noticed the number of classmates from different parts of the world and learning how to effectively communicate with them will be an asset in the workforce.   Finally, I have a goal to have my own consulting firm.   We will help companies compete with other companies through many technological changes.   We will also improve their effectiveness by using different systems and create strategies to give them a competitive advantage with their counterparts.
