And he possessed such great strenght that he could subdue three to five men in a hand-to-hand combat. As analysis is conducted into the characters of both Chief Bromden and Randle McMurphy, it is easy to conclude that both have characteristics and preform actions that can be considered heroic. Physically both Bromden and McMurphy are huge. But, unlike McMurphy, Bromden does not have the self-confidence to match his gigantic exterior. This contrast in personality is due to the idea that Bromden has constantly been maltreated for the entirety of his life. McMurphy, on the other hand, refuses to be brought down because of his indomitable spirit.…

    Akhenaten - the Leader

Akhenaten has greatly inspired me with his creativity and leadership. While his creativity was remarkable because he redefined what had been done before for thousands of years, his leadership was even more extraordinary. Only the greatest leader can motivate people to abandon everything they used to know and to believe in him and his guidance. Perhaps his statues that show his realistic features carried the message to his people saying that a king does not need to be perfect but flawed like every other human being. And perhaps that celebration of truthfulness was what won him over his subjects. Standing there in Amarna was, therefore, my most inspiring moment because I felt as though I have come to the place where one of the world’s greatest revolutions had…

I grew up in a culture that glorifies the image of the monarch; questioning the sovereignty of the royal family is taboo, and those who dare to cross the line face dire consequences. Unlike the chief of the Invisible People, whose role combines governing and leading his tribe, an absolute monarch – like that of Jordan – exercises supreme power over the land, with the presence of counterbalancing political parties and governmental institutions…

Chanting Bande Mataram, he charges forward strongly resolute to end his life in heroism. Shanti and Satyananda’s conversation regarding Jiban’s likely death in the battle, takes place in the religious security of the intimate jungle: “We shall have to sacrifice ourselves. I am going to die. Jiban and Bhavan will have to die. Perhaps, my little mother, you, too, will have to die. But you must realize that we must die doing our duty. There is no sense in dying merely for the sake of death, without furthering the cause of our country’s freedom.” Paradoxically, Bhavan’s courageous victory furthers the confusion for the governance of the liberated domain, as Satyananda angrily states: “None of us may be king. We all are ascetics. The king of the country is God himself. He is our Protector. After we capture the capital, you may crown a king. But know this for certain that I shall accept no other duty in life except the one of rigid asceticism. You may now retire to your respective duties.” The ideology of the revolutionaries only go as far as hording thousands of followers. After the victory is ensured, the leadership and with it the instruments of war will be surrendered, the followers will return back to the safety of their households. Ironically, after the process of victory is accomplished, the political power may fall in the hands of those greedy for material wealth- little responsibility is taken for those scarred revolutionaries returning from the…
