The word Hell, or in Italian, Inferno means the abode of Satan and the forces of evil. It is where sinners suffer eternal punishment. Dante was exiled by Pope Boniface, which led him to write this poem, Dante’s Inferno. He wrote the poem because he was exiled and he had nothing left in his life, so he just wrote to express that he was betrayed by his own country, not him betraying his country. Since he was betrayed by his own country, he became a nomad and has been a beggar ever since.

A modern day individual that can be represented as sinners that can be condemned in Dante’s Inferno is Adolf Hitler. He was a dictator of Germany which soon led his country into shame and just disaster. He committed the crime of the massacre of Jews, children and the elderly, homosexuals, people with mental disabilities, and people of the non-Aryan race. The levels of Hell Hitler should be placed in which are specified in Dante’s Inferno are levels seven and eight. The reason he should be placed in seven is because he has basically murdered an entire nation of people and also he committed suicide which is a major sin. He was a dictator with political corruptions and was a hypocrite because it was believed he was part Jewish and also he did not have the characteristics of the Aryan race, it concludes his place in level eight in Hell.

Another individual that should be punished in Hell is Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods had cheated on his wife with multiple women and lied even thought they were married through the power of God. Level two which is named Lust, is what Tiger Woods craved for. He can also be placed in level eight because of the lie he told in order to not be stripped away to shame.
