Dante Alighieri is an Italian poet born in Florence (Italy) who is normally known for writing the divine comedy which he wrote during his exiled from his beloved city Florence. The divine comedy about Dante’s journey through hell, but he is also known for writing the inferno which means hell in Italian which he wrote during his exile but it’s based on his journey. Dante wrote the inferno to tell people about the rings of hell.
The poem starts when Dante himself was lost in the woods the day before Good Friday, while Dante was lost in the woods he saw a sun rising above the mountains so he decided to head towards the mountain, so when he got to the top of the mountains he saw three beasts which was a lion, she wolf, and a leopard so he decided to head back to the woods.
When Dante returned to the dark woods he saw a ghost of Virgil, a roman poet who has come to guide Dante trough the mountain which is hell and they will reach heaven where Dante’s beloved Beatrice awaits. So Virgil and other angels from heaven helped Dante trough hell. Dante and Virgil had to go through a lot of devils and evil people on their way through hell but they made it through after defeating Lucifer who is also known as Satan.
After telling his story about his journey through hell he wanted to tell people that there is such thing as hell so they should stop committing sins and if they don’t stop he decided to punish the people sinning and the more they sinned the more the punishments become severe. But it seems like nobody cared about Dante when he told them the story about him traveling through hell so he decided to punish the sinners and the unfaithful people.
Dante is punishing the thieves they same way they will be punished in hell so he remembered when him and Virgil saw how the thieves were getting punished on their journey through hell. Dante said he will punished people who stole, so the way he... [continues]
