It is believed everyone on Earth are here for a reason. We live, share and affect others around us in some way at a point in time. Certain people we meet are placed on our path for a specific purpose which we find out at a later time. Some people in life feel a sense of unfulfillment and resentment which leads to unhappiness. Many people believe every life intertwines with one another and certain people are destined to be part of one's journey to help teach lessons or to help establish our character by the decisions we make for our selves and others. The key to inner peace and happiness is to let go of any burdens in your heart. Obstacles in life are a way to challenge people for them to gain. The subject of destiny and purpose of life is found in many contexts. This idea is focused in the novel The Five…

As humans we are all given the chance to embark on a wonderful journey through life. Some choose to focus on the final goal and choose to dedicate their lives for the end destination. The poem "Ithaca" by C.P. Cavafy suggests that one should not focus ones entire life on the end goal but instead enjoy the journey, and take as much as one possibly can from it. The author uses Ithaca as a metaphor for life in the poem. It can be understood from this poem that Ithaca represents the journey of life; the beginning, the end and everything in between.…

Hey, I am born in Los Santos, Idlewood the 12 /05/ 1997 in All saints hospital. I've been growing up with both parents and my older brother in a safe home and parents that took care of me and never made me worried about anything. I past my High School with a lot of A's. I never got into trouble in my High School years, but it all went wrong when I moved away from my home. I moved to a little apartment in the market, not that long away from where I grew up. But it was different.Graffiti and gunshots were a part of everyday and every night too. I didn't really have any friends from High School because they all moved to other countries or cities, so I started on the streets. I met a guy named Johnny, who took me under his arms and took care of…

I found a video my mom had filmed of me crossing the wooden bridge. After watching it, I realized that those bridges were kind of like life. Both of the bridges got you to your end destination, but it was up to you to choose which one to take. One bridge is sturdy, safe, and predictable and the other is rickety, risky, and unpredictable. I could have picked the safe bridge, but then I probably won’t have a story to tell or have a video to watch. In life you make the choice on which path you take just like the bridges. If you pick the safe, predictable path you’ll miss out on a lot of things. You’ll never put yourself out there. You’ll never ask that girl or guy you like out because you don’t want your heart broken or never try to publish the novel you wrote because of fear of rejection. I realized that night that life is too short to always take the safe path. When I’m at the end of life I don’t want to think back on the life I lived and have a million what ifs. Sometimes you have to face your fears and cross that rickety wooden…

In life, everyone struggles and things do not always turn out perfect like we want it to. Sometimes people have to take charge of their own life in order to succeed and be happy. The nursery rhyme “Row row row your boat” displays this idea very well. This rhyme sings of how life is but a dream, but life is not always but a dream. In order to row your boat, or take charge of your life, you have to decide what you want in life and what it takes to get it. You have to row your own boat.…

I have seen purpose and meaning of my life evolving over the five past years. Five years ago I was just a senior in high school, I had no idea what I would be doing five years from then. I knew I wanted to go to college but I did not know what I wanted to take up. Here I am five years later taking online classes going for my BA in Human Resources/Management. In high school I was not motivated enough because I had not developed my whole personality. I had not grown up and realized that I needed to do something with my life.…

One of the first topics that we discussed in my English class is the “Row Row Row Your Boat” philosophy. In a video posted by Prince Ea, this idea is presented. Many valuable points are made by him, although three main points, which are applicable to life, stood out to me. Firstly, take control of your own life and remember that you are the one “rowing your boat.” Likewise, it is crucial that you remember to move with the flow of life and do not try to force things in life. Lastly, the video discusses the potential we possess to influence others and their future. Considering how easy it is to forget our purpose in life, this video is used as an inspiration and a reminder for all of us, including you and I, to keep on rowing our…

Pain and suffering are constant throughout life; misfortunes that we just have to learn to deal with. Situations when we have to keep our heads held high, stay confident and never give up. It is in these tough times that we must look at the bright side, focus on what we can gain out of the challenging position in which we find ourselves in. We have to stop in a world that never pauses. We have to freeze in an ever flowing waterfall. We have to disembark a never slowing train; we have to step back and find a positive, no matter how hard that may seem.…
