According to statistics, between 2001 and 2008, 334 people have died in the U.S after being struck by Tasers. In August of 2011 there was another incident of a student who died as a result of a Taser gun shock in Cincinnati. Everette Howard, who was 18 years old, was the victim of the shock. An officer was responding to a 911 call about an assault. As Everette Howard was extremely angry with balled fists, he began to walk towards the officer. The officer asked Everette Howard to stop where he was on various occasions but he still walked angrily towards him. The officer was left with no choice but to stun him with a cycle of a Taser gun.
