Describe and Evaluate Research that Explains Why a Person Turns to Crime.
There are many reasons why crime is perpetrated by the younger generation, as this is the peak age were individuals are easily influenced and are always learning and developing. As individuals are growing up, they are known to test themselves, for either building an image for themselves in front of friends or sometimes known to be testing the law to see whether they can get away with certain crimes. Crime committed by individuals can also be a cause of their upbringing and childhood problems, at times individuals can be bullied into doing certain crimes which becomes an addiction, e.g. drugs, prostitution etc. We need to also consider how these individuals are living, whether their family or friends have something they cannot afford.
The main reasons which need to be looked at are individuals upbringing; whether they parents are in full time employment, whether they have a criminal record or are in contact with any form of drug use. To look at the key facts about why crime is committed by the younger generation and what makes them do these crimes, from their influences and upbringing and also who is to blame for these children committing these acts. There are many candidates who can be blamed for the responsibility of individuals committing a crime, from the judicial system, their parents for not having enough control over their children at a young age and not teaching them the right way to act and how to be civilized amongst others. The people who influence these children i.e. gang leaders etc; it can also be blamed on the environment, media, bullied into committing a crime and for the thrill to carry on committing a crime.
