This paper reflects the full verbal description of my personal art project. You will learn about the materials that I used, how it includes the different elements and principles of art, and what aesthetic movement it represents. Also, included will be where my art work will be displayed, who will see it, the value that it has, the message that I intend to communicate as well as who would benefit from the experience of my creative project.
The most significant learning in ARTS230 for me was the understanding of what art is. I learned that art is the expression or application of human creative skills and imagination and that there are many forms of art.
My project is a painting that I did by hand on a poster board. The poster board is yellow in color and I hand painted music notes using acrylic paint. The notes painted are the quaver, treble clef, and semiquaver. I painted music notes because I feel like music is a universal language. Music connects peoples and cultures around the world and is a way of expressing emotion through sound. Music is defined as an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color. Music is the art of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. The notes are painted in a mixture of colors that include black yellow and red. Throughout the painting you can see brush strokes of blue and green as well as silver music notes scattered throughout. The colors that I chose were based on what the colors represented. Yellow symbolizes wisdom and means joy and happiness. Green is the color of nature, fertility, life. Grass green is the most restful color. Green also symbolizes self-respect and well-being. Green is the color of balance. Green also means learning, growth and harmony. Blue is...
