Creationism VS Evolution- “Origins debate” – “The Great Debate” Creationism VS Evolution is the recurring cultural, political, and theological debate about the origins of the earth, humanity, life, and the universe. God created land and all things available to the human race. He is the mastermind behind everything. Every speck, every cell, and every hair on your body.. Or so you say. Could it be that everything has evolved naturally? Or, possibly even God helped us to create the land everything lives on, breathing or not. What do you believe? Come into “The Great Debate”. Creationism, The belief that the universe and living organisms originate from divine creation, as in the biblical account, rather than by processes is what 46% of the American population firmly believes, rather than evolution. That God, the holy man himself, created the days, the animals, the weather, the people; every precious good and evil known to man. This is referred to as “the largest debate of the century” – (www.creationism.com). “For people that were raised into religion and into Jesus, often believe that God created everything, that he was the reason for us.” –(www.ncse.com/creationism )Although almost half of the population believes such, there are some who believe that it is nonsense! Controversy began in Europe in the 18th Century when “new interpretations of geology led to various theories of ancient earth and extinction demonstrated fossil geological sequences that prompted ideas of evolution, notably Lamarckism”- (www.factsonthegreatdebate.com) Evolution, respected by 15% of the population, is the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms. Charles Darwin’s book The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, is what formally brought Evolution to a respectable field of study in 1859.
