Develop and argument supporting the importance of a strategic plan for the success of the defined business
Verizon Wireless does not need any more new products, but the company does need a service. The service is a child care center for Verizon Wireless employees only. The center will be named The VZW Child Care Development Center. Children from three months old to thirteen years old can attend. The monthly expense will be deducted from the parent’s paycheck. The parents will have two payment options. The first option will be for the full tuition to come out of the first check of the month. The second option is to have the tuition broken up into two payments. The first half of the payment will come out of the first check and other half will come out of the second check. VZW Child Care Development Center hours will be from 5:30am to 11:30pm. Schedules at Verizon Wireless vary so the hours are catered for employees who have to be at work between the hours of 6am to 11pm. Located within the Verizon Wireless Contact Center, there will be increased accessibility, convenience and security for parents.
A strategic plan is defined as “Systematic process of envisioning a desired future, and translating this vision into broadly defined goals or objectives and a sequence of steps to achieve them” (www.businessdictionary.com). Strategic planning helps keep everything in order with the product or service. A child care center at Verizon Wireless would need consistent strategic and marketing planning.
