Dear Search Committee:
I am writing to express my interest and desire in learning about the Sales Management aspect of a career; I read about this position opening in the Indiana University Management newspaper. I think having the knowledge that a Sales Manager has is extremely important in this field and it is the career path that I would like to take. As a sophomore in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA), I have taken many courses that have prepared me for this certain job type where I have received a grand point average of 3.0. Although I haven’t had much experience in the field I am just as and definitely more determined, disciplined, and motivated as the next person.
As I was reading about the skills you were looking for in your, future Sales Manager, I feel as though I would be a strong asset to the Sales Management branch of Dick’s Sporting Goods. While I was reading what the experiences at Dick’s Sporting Goods would include-working with a Store Manager caught my eye. I think that it is important to shadow someone that you could either be working for or taking over their position including interactions with Training Partners; who are experts in their area of business. I couldn’t agree more with your “Learn-By-Doing” philosophy during training, there is no other way to do it then gain real experience of working in that given business. I am an enthusiastic participant with an entrepreneurial spirit. I am always open to others ideas as well as leading a group, which is why I would also love to be in the Manager Trainee program that you are offering. I communicate very well with others and my workspace is extraordinarily organized. When finalizing a decision I usually weigh in all options just to make sure I am ready and committed to what I have chosen.
I have attached my resume and reference letter for your review. I will contact you within a week to...
