1. List three key components involved in the communication process.
Encoder - The sender has a thought and shares through the communication process of transmitting the message by written, spoken or any other methods which physically represent and transmit the thought.
Decoder - The receiver in the communication process, reads or listens actively to try and understand the message.
Feedback - The decoders’ response is feedback and it gives the encoder confirmation if the message has been understood.
2. Identify three key characteristics of effective communication and briefly explain their impact on the communication process.
Expressiveness - Being genuinely involved in the communication and giving apt feedback aids in the communication process.
Empathetic – Being sensitive to another person’s point of view, impacts the communication process when a person feels heard and validated without judgement they have more tendency to continue communicating.
