Cartoons Take Children Captive
Media refers to teleision, radio,newspeper, magazines and movies as means of communications. Both the gathering and sending of information requires that choises be made, what to select, what to use, what to highligh and how to "tell" the story.The outcome ,the product of these choises is than passed on to an audience.The audience is given a version of reality, which is consructed and ready.The most important part of the audience is formed by children: especially children who watch cartoons.Cartoons are not the reflection of real life. In contrast it is an imaginary life. The problem consists in this points because of the fact that not all cartoons are expected to be true in the sense that they really happened, but clearly some are expected to be accurate descriptions of actual events.This consist lots of negative effects especially for children. In many country the positive and negative effects of cartoons are discussed. It is certain that children influence from them but the most important thing is that how they are influenced. The condition of influence can not be same both an adult and a child. A child always open to learn. Many research show that deviant behaviour are learned in the early age. Cartoons are representing deviance, it produces deviance although there ar e for chilldren.
Deviance can appear in front of us in many ways like losing the creativity and the ability of thinking. The amount of time that children spend watching television especially cartoons is very interesting because like 4 hours a day, 28 hours a week, by the time they graduated from high school children spend more time watching television than any other activity except sleeping. In our country the influence from television is higher than others because of the fact that in our country the ability of reading and thinking is not prevalent.
