1.0IntroductionPanasonic is a Japanese multinational consumer electronics corporation and also one of the largest and leading electronic product manufacturers in the world and a well-known brand name. Its slogan "Panasonic ideas for life" represents the advanced technology and the wide range of products which we cover. It’s formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd and stands for the depth and diversity of its research capabilities, manufacturing expertise, high quality and sophisticated products. In 1918, Panasonic was founded by Konosuke Matsushita and headquartered in Osaka Japan. (www.panasonic.net).
Panasonic was ranked of 89 the largest company of world by Forbes Global in 2009 and among worldwide top 20 electronics sales leader. As of 31 March 2012 Panasonic employed around 330,000 staff and had around 580 subsidiary companies.[27] Panasonic had total revenues of ¥7,846,216 million in 2012, of which 53% were generated in Japan, 25% in Asia ex. Japan, 12% in the Americas and 10% in Europe. (Panasonic 2012 annual report)
According to Panasonic Official website, its mission is to fulfilling the demands of market and customer is the basis for the further positive development of our company. The constant rise of the customer satisfaction is the necessary indicator for this development and vision is aims to be the No.1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry by 2018. As a part of this reorganization, Panasonic made Panasonic Electric Works Co., Ltd. (PEW) and SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO) wholly-owned subsidiaries on April 1, 2011.
According to Panasonic Global Website, since its establishment in 1918, Panasonic has been guided by its Basic Management Philosophy founded by Konosuke Matsushita, which states that the mission of an enterprise is to contribute to the progress and development of society and the well-being of people worldwide through its business activities.
