Introduction
Riordan Manufacturer is a worldwide plastic manufacturer that is completely owned and operated by Riordan Industries, Inc. The products they produce include plastic beverage containers, custom plastic parts, and plastic fan parts. Riordan has production plants located in Albany, Georgia, Pontiac, Michigan, and China. The company’s headquarters is located in San Jose where research and development is conducted. The company was founded by a chemistry professor known as Dr. Riordan who also produced many patents which included patents related to processing polymers into high tensile strength plastic substrates. Knowing the extent of his commercial applications for his patents, he started Riordan Plastics, Inc. in 1991. Although his initial focus was to continue developing and researching for licensing of his existing patents, he acquired venture capital, which he used to start a fan manufacturing plant which this time the name of the company was changed to Riordan Manufacturing, Inc (University of Phoenix, 2003).
