The USA PARTIOT ACT “PATRIOT ACT” is an act of the US congress that was signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 16th, 2001. The act is a ten letter word that stands for Uniting (and) Strengthening America (by) Providing Appropriated Tools Required (to) Intercept (and) Obstruct Terrorisms Act of 2001. The USA Patriot Act created controversy between controversy between supporters of the individual-rights perspective and the public-order advocates. Individual-rights advocate is one who seek to protect personal freedoms within the process of criminal justice. Public-order is one who seek believe that under certain circumstance involving a crime threat to public safety, the interest of sociality should take precedence over individual rights. The USA PATRIOT Act has been very controversial to Americans, simply for the fact that many believe this act invades many individual rights that we hold as American citizen. This section of the patriot act aims to protect the civil rights and civil liberties of all ethnic groups in America. I believe this section of the PATRIOT act derived from the disappearance of Mohamad Salman Hamdani. Patriot Act affects foreign travelers more than anyone, as it denies due process to a foreign visitor.
