Which belief system of China will improve the way of life (economy, education, etc.) of the American people?
The United States of America was founded on beliefs and certain principals that have
generally led our country to powerful, stable economy and military victory for almost 250 years. Essential values or ideas that define the spirit of America include limited government, a superior educational system and the pursuit of happiness. These ideas on how a country should act and the attitude towards life that the country should be centered around were introduced to us by our Founding Fathers. The Founding Fathers saw the mistakes that other powers across the world experienced and envisioned a country without their flaws. Until recent years, our country, led by the ideology of our founding fathers, has placed our country down a prosperous path filled with success. In present times, we have forgotten the underlining principals that have served as the foundation for this country for almost 250 years. As we look for a solution to our problems, we should look abroad, to the Confucian philosophy that is based on humanism and ethical behavior. As the United States of America undergoes change and loses sight of traditional American values, we must utilize the Confucian philosophy to restore iconic American beliefs.

Education, was emphasized by our Founding Fathers and the expectations and the love for learning are gradually diminishing in our school systems. When talking about the necessity on public schools James Madison said: “knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.” The standards of education are not what they used to be. The United States ranks poorly against international competition; in math we place 25th, in science we place 17st and in literacy we place 14th. However in China where Confucianism was and...
