TOXIC WORDS ICEBREAKER (7 minutes)
Ask the group to think about 3 or 4 recent office/personal conflicts. Have them list the “toxic words” that started the conflict. Get the group talking to each other. WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF TRAINING SESSION? (5 minutes)

Discuss goals of training and explain why these are the goals. Understanding of conflict management, understanding of personality types, techniques to resolve conflict. WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF CONFLICT? (2 minutes)

Use information in power point. Have group write the information in their packet to ensure understanding. GROUP BREAK OUT – (5 minutes)
The tables will be in groups of 4. Have each table group discuss recent conflicts and jot down a few of those conflicts on their guide. WHAT IS CONFLICT RESOLUTION? (2 minutes)
Use information in power point. Have group write the information in their packet to ensure understanding. GROUP BREAK OUT – (5 minutes)
Have each table group discuss ways they could have handled the conflicts above or even avoided them all together. SELF ASSESSMENT – (10 minutes)
Have everyone complete the self assessment provided to them. Ask the group to think about how knowing themselves will assist them in managing conflict. DISC TEST – (5 minutes)
Go over the personality styles and various traits of each letter in the DISC test. Get each individual thinking about which personality style they feel they fit with the most. DISCUSS IDEAS FOR MANAGING CONFLICT (5 minutes)

Talk about the need for addressing the issue immediately. Look at the importance of the issue. Discuss the conflict. Talk about going to management if needed. Discuss how management plays a role in conflict resolution. GROUP ACTIVITY ROLE PLAY (10-minutes)

SCENARIO 1 – Tim and Tina rely on each other to be caught up on their daily work so that the other person doesn’t fall behind. Recently, Tim has been socializing more than working and has not been completing the tasks needed for Tina to complete her work. Tina decides to approach Tim about this. Tina is an I type personality and Tim is a D. Play out the scenario of Tina approaching Tim remembering how each personality style comes into play. Keep it confrontational. After the role play, look to the group and ask for ways in which Tina could have approached Tim differently. Could they tell which personality style Tina and Tim were? How would that have made a different? SCENARIO 2 – This time, create the scenario above but, give Tina a D type personality and Tim a C type personality. After the role play, look to the group and ask for ways in which Tina could have approached Tim differently. Could they tell which personality style Tina and Tim were? How would that have made a different? SCENARIO 3 – Have the role players create a situation and use their own personality styles to play it out. After the role play, look to the group and ask what the thought. Were they able to tell what personality style A and B were? How would they handle the situation differently? Ask each of the participants what they learned about themselves by doing the role play. Do they have some different ideas to take with them when in this situation? WRAP-UP (2 minutes)
Summarize the information from the training session and offer the trainees the option to sign up for the next session.
