INTRODUCTION

Technology has been rapidly moving towards the modern world. The rapid growth of technology-based type of system influenced the procedures of business establishments, workgroups, institutions, and companies, not only in the private sector but also in the public sector. One of the famous technologies that are widely used until now by the companies and institutions is the integration of barcode technology in the applications used within the procedures and transactions being made by a company. In 1981 the United States Department of Defense   (DoD) adopted the use of Code 39 for marking all products sold to the United States military. This system, LOGMARS, is still used by DoD and is widely viewed as the catalyst for widespread adoption of bar coding in industrial applications. Bar coding technology is still widely used in different industries at present time. Malls and department stores are still in touch with this type of technology making their transaction procedures faster, not only these particular establishments have been under this technology but schools as well. Having this kind of technology and being in the field of computer science, the focus must be on how this certain type of technology will affect the procedures being made by a particular institution upon its implementation. The researcher will focus primarily in the development of a software application since the study is more about system application involvement in the processes of a certain institution. The aspects and factors that affect an institution having a manual system to an automated or digital type of system are within the scope of the study.
