I am a student at California State University Polytechnic, Pomona majoring with a Business Administration degree with an option in computer information systems. I decided to take this major because I have always thought computers play major role in society. Knowing that I wished to have a major that integrated of Business and Computers I choose this major and look forward to applying it in companies such as IBM, Intel, Accenture, Hewlett Packard, etc. I believe that Cal Poly Pomona’s combination of leading-edge technology and hands-on work experience will make of me an extremely valuable resource in my career field.
My favorite thing about this major is that it has the computing component. With technology there is something new every day. It is very exciting to be in an industry that creates new markets and massive changes to business and society. My least favorite aspect of my major is the idea that your eyesight can be harmed for being in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
In my journey in obtaining my degree, I believe that the financial aspect will be a challenge in being able to finish my major. As a first generation student in my family I had come across obstacles that deprived me from taking part in a 4 year institution, but due to my hard work and dedication I was honored to be part of Cal Poly Pomona. Being student at Cal Poly Pomona makes me strive for academic success with my coursework for my major.
This major will help me achieve my goal of using my degree to set me forth to graduate school. By obtaining a Master degree I wish to obtain a job in the field. I dream to be part of Intel, IBM, Hewlett Packard in which I can demonstrate my knowledge and skills in application of software and business system analysis. Speaking to Ms. Anna Carlin an alumni from Cal Poly Pomona who graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in...
