All licensed child care facilities operating eight hours or more per week must have at least one credentialed child care personnel on-site for every 20 children in care. In order to meet the staff credential requirement, an individual must meet the qualifications in one of the professional training categories pursuant to CF-FSP Form 5211, April 06 (Staff Credential Application). The qualifications for the Active Birth through Five Child Care Credential category include, but are not limited to, the Department of Education (DOE) approved Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC), and the Department of Children and Families (DCF) approved Birth Through Five Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC). Although both the ECPC and FCCPC meet the staff credential requirement, there are slight variations in the required training components. In an effort to assist training providers in understanding the variations between the two training programs, the following is an overview of the required training components.
