During last week’s research, three testable outcomes were identified: the value will increase if the home is closer to the city, the value will decrease if the home is closer to the city, or there is no direct correlation. Team B hypothesizes that if a property is closer to the city, the value will be higher. It has been determined that the median, mean, minimum, and maximum values should be assessed and examined to determine if this hypothesis is accurate. Team B will be using the mean home prices in group one and two to determine if there is a significant difference in home prices for homes less than 15 miles from the city compared to those equal to or greater than 15 miles from the center of the city. Based on the possible testable outcomes, Team B will use the Null Hypothesis and Alternate hypothesis with the mean prices in group one denoted as µH1 and mean home prices in group two denoted as µH2.…

Anyone Lived in a Pretty How Town by E.E. Cummings tells the life cycle of townspeople and of one unknown couple. The subtle language choices, inverted syntax and use of repetition make this poem stunningly effective. "Anyone" is the protagonist, who is disliked by the "women and men" or "everyones" of the town, because he is different and follows his own routine. This poem tells the love story of Anyone and Noone. "Anyone" is used as a proper noun, this person isn't spoken about as if he were just anyone, and that he appreciated and valued his and Anyone's individuality. Using 'Anyone' as a single specific character reinforces the idea that this person was isolated from the rest of his town. The use of inverted syntax shows that Anyone is the protagonist of this poem, set in a "pretty how" town. "Pretty how" seems to describe the superficial lifestyle lived by the members of this town. Anyone is a colorful character in a town of black and white.…

Its multicultural nature, advanced infrastructure, state of the art technologies, scale of foreign investment and architectural ingenuity not only make for a highly desired international tourist destination but are all compelling evidence to suggest that Sydney is in fact an established city of the developed world. As in any developed city, there are a myriad of urban dynamics of change at work that have, and will continue to evolve the morphology of the Australian metropolis.…

Jane Addams (September 6, 1860 - May 21, 1935) was a pioneer settlement social worker, public philosopher, sociologist, author, and leader in women's suffrage and world peace. In an era when presidents such as Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilsonidentified themselves as reformers and social activists, Adams was one of the most prominent[1] reformers of the Progressive Era. She helped turn the US to issues of concern to mothers, such as the needs of children, public health, and world peace. She said that if women were to be responsible for cleaning up their communities and making them better places to live, they needed the vote to be effective in doing so. Addams became a role model for middle-class women who volunteered to uplift their communities. She is increasingly being recognized as a member of the American pragmatist school of philosophy.[2] In 1931 she became the first American woman to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and is recognized as the "father" of the social work profession in the United States.…

By 1985, The United States of America had become considered a suburban nation. Today, half of all Americans live in suburban communities that have grown outward, surrounding the nations cities. The suburbs have continued and will continue to grow outward with the growth of the population and the evolution of America's culture. When looking at how suburbs developed, there are many arguable factors that played and still play roles in the ongoing move of human society away from crowded cities. Like any species thats population would grow at a rapid rate, humans began to outgrow the communities they had built and had a demand for more space to reproduce and live. The furthering in technology, especially transportation, played a huge role in allowing the suburbs to develop as large and fast as they did. However it was the matter of class that dictated who was allowed and who could afford to move out of the cities. As suburbs continued to develop, this higher class was responsible for the influence of federal laws that continued the suburbs growth. They were also responsible for creating the idea of how the American family should be and selling it, spurring an entirely new 'middle' class of Americans. The evolution of American suburbs began out of necessity, but the way in which they developed is attributed to the pull of a variety of social and technological influences throughout the past few hundred years.…
