Licensed practical nurses care for the sick, injured, convalescent, and disabled under the direction of physicians and registered nurses. We also prepare and give injections and enemas, monitor catheters, apply dressings, treat bedsores, and give alcohol rubs and massage as I learned today. We give baths and help the patient with personal hygiene. RN’s tasks and duties are about the same. RN’s collect sample, feed patients, take patient food intake and out. They also work to prevent disease and promote health just as licensed nurses. We both teach patients, families, and friends how to care for the patient and their needs.
On the other hand, there are many differences from the RN’s as well as the LPN. The pay is more because they have more time for schooling. Many supervisory positions are given to the registered nurse. The four year program allows the nurse to help doctors with treatments and examinations. I’ve noticed too depending on the site RN’s tend to develop and manage their own nursing plans.
As I mentioned early nursing takes a special people to handle that tasks that our bestowed on us. The medical field can be very stressful and draining. The work requires that you stand on your feet and can be able body to complete the tasks. The essay that I wrote... [continues]
