The first painting I will contrast is the most famous Starry Night by the most vnoted Van Gogh although the reason of not denying the popularity of Starry Night, it's also interesting to bring to mind that there is very little known about Vincent's own feelings toward his work. As studies read Vincent would often discuss specific works in great detail, but not so in the case of Starry Night. As it yet difficult to say, due to him not expressing the strong feelings for the famous painting Starry Night was painted while Vincent was in the asylum at Saint-Rémy and his behavior was very erratic at the time, due to the severity of his attacks. Unlike most of his artworks, Starry Night was painted from memory and not outdoors as was Vincent's preference. This might better help to understand in piece to explain why the emotional impact of the famous painting is so much more powerful than many of Van Gogh's other works from the same period. I believe that Van Gogh painted this work using oil based, and the style expressed in this painted is one that I contrast that it gives off illusionistic view point in which Gogh was trying to speak to the viewers of this painting by this subject that I found, showing the more “crazy part of this life” of his life during this time. While the other painting by Van Gogh Wheatfield With Crows while in this particular paint we still see this illusionistic art style but I view it’s subject as being one of peace as this painting depicts yet, another night sky but however it does not show and couple an emotion of insanity like the last Starry Night. This paint was also painted with oil based paint as well. But this painting time’s period date’s from July 1890, while the other famous painting Starry Night produced in June of 1889, which tells me that Van Gogh was surely at a very different “altogether” place and mindset in his life.
