Compare/Contrast essay
Jeannette and franks lives were very similar in some ways but very different in others. In my essay I will be telling you the similarities with the way they were brought up, how their parents treated them, how they had a hard time with having enough money and hard times.
Jeannette Walls started relying on herself at the very young age of three. Her parents, Rex Walls and Rose Marry thought that was the right way to teach your child. She was always getting hurt because she really wasn’t fit to be doing all the things she was doing at three years old. She ended up getting hospitalized because she got burnt cooking hot dogs for herself. Jeannette really loved it at the hospital because she got three square meals a day and all the people were really nice to her. Jeannette’s parents had very strong beliefs in the way they were bringing up their kids. They also thought they were going to hit it big and find gold someday.
The family was always on the move because they were “running form the FBI” that’s what they told the kids but it really wasn’t true at all. Jeannette’s extended families such as her grandparents on her father’s side were very strange and drunks like her father. On her mothers side she was very wealthy, giving and nice, like her mother had the potential to be but Rex was holding her back.
Frank’s life is very rough as a young boy. Working hard from day one trying to keep some food in his gut. His parents were very troubled people his father was a drunk like rex and also couldn’t hold a job. His mother was a stay at home mom with her kids like jeannette’s mother. They had it a little more roughly I would say, both of them rarely ever had 3 meals a day. [continues]
