Attitude of gratitiude

On Friday November 16, 2012 I helped my church, pack over 100 Thanksgiving baskets for people that cannot afford to buy food. At the church I helped pack boxes with two of my friends, skyler and Kevin. We helped pack foods such as: Cranberry Sauce, Heinz Gravy, Spaghetti Sauce, Kraft Noodles, two Green Giant green bean cans, Potatoes, Onions, Stove top Stuffing, Smothered potatoes.
We had to pack the foods in that order. The older people nagged at us because we didn’t pack the way that they wanted us to. We took several boxes in the middle and had a person get a certain amount of one product and the baskets would keep filling them up until all the boxes were filled. Just filling the boxes makes me so thankful. I am happy for what I have and I learned that I shouldn’t take anything for grantit.
Sometimes I think about how I have so many different opportunities to watch movies and hang out with my friends, and be able to have some of the highest quality materials and the people I have helped cannot even afford food. Sometimes I wonder just how blessed am I, just how selfish can I be not to let my friends borrow my things and touch my things. I think of myself in those situations, what if that was me, I certaintly wouldn’t like them always saying no and I have nothing at all. I may not even have a pencil to write with because people say no. It is another story if whatever I have is it but depending on what it is I will give it up. This December i am striving not to be so mean and selfish. I also will strive to be more considerate of other people and what they have to say. I also have numerous opportunities that those people don’t have. I am thankful for my family and friends, and I am also thankful for the opportunities that I have to play...
