Organizations require different methods and styles of communications, an important part and a concern when influencing the productivity and objective goals of a company. Working in an organization within the health care field there is diversity within the workforce. Communication has a direct impact on how well health care management teams, patients, and family members interact together for the continuing care of a patient (Leahy, Fuzy, & Grafe, 2009).
An organization, health care team management consisting of a continuing care physician, supervisors, registered nurse case managers/care coordinators, nurses, therapists, social service personal, and home health aides process group/team communications daily to improve the quality of care and the outcome of a patients’ treatment. Within this team communications are built on methods such as written and verbal communications. These team members may come from different cultures and different genders, the communication process must remain the same within the health care realm. The communication skills, written, language, and process can affect how well the team does as a unit and for the well-being of the patient.
Within the health care team management there are males and females, on a medical level the communication must be the same, the females tend to communicate more making the communication between the patient and family members more comfortable. Team communication consists of care planning for a patient in need of medical care. The process starts with either the continuing care physician or the family members communicating to a health care provider there is a need for a certain patient to have a health care team management and a care plan assessment made.
