Communication for Distance Education
Part 1

Write a message of 100 to 200 words either to your family, friends, or classmates.

Hey, I just wanted you guys to know that I was in a car accident. Don’t worry; I am fine, just a little shaken up. I don’t need to go to the hospital but the car is pretty dinged up. The other car and passenger in that vehicle are also fine but I like I said before we all got pretty spooked, it could have been a lot worse! The cops are at the scene now taking care of everything and writing a police report. It was only minor and there really is nothing to worry about but I really needed you guys to know now instead of finding out later from someone else. All right, I’m off for now C-ya.

Write a formal letter of 100 to 200 words to the insurance company. Use salutations and sign-offs where appropriate.

To whom it May Concern,
I was recently in a minor accident with another vehicle. I had contacted the police to file a police report to get all the information from both myself and the other vehicle. The other driver and I have swapped insurance information and someone should be getting into contact with you very soon. I am not at all sure who was at fault, the police report and accounts from people who witnessed the accident should be able to shed some like concerning this. I am not sure of how this officially works since this is my first accident, but I felt it was necessary to let you know. I hope to follow back up with you shortly, please get into contact with my through my on file contact number if necessary. I appreciate your time.

Regards,
Ashley Johndro
