Communication and Collaboration Strategy
The Multiple Pathways to Learning assessment suggests that I am a strong verbal-linguistic learner. This means that I learn best through listening, reading, writing and speaking. The assessment also suggests that I am a strong visual-spatial learner. This means that I have an understanding of spatial relationships and am able to perceive or create images to learn.
When looking at the different learning styles I noticed that there are two things we all have in common. We all communicate to learn. Every style is different but able to achieve the same goal. I feel like I work best with someone that has a logical-mathematical learning style. I am able to understand their reasoning and put it into scenarios or words that are easy to understand. I also see a connection with the interpersonal learning style. Since I learn best through verbal and visual techniques it is appropriate to assume that the interpersonal learner would be able to tolerate my styles best. I know that when my two strongest learning styles collide it makes for a dynamic learning experience. I feel as though I would be least like someone that is of the naturalistic learning style. Since I am a verbal and visual learner this might get in the way of someone that is using meditation for a learning technique. I find it hard to relate to nature. Since I am confined to four walls of concrete throughout the day I would say that I am not used to nature. When something is not part of your routine it is difficult to fit in one more thing. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy walking in the grass barefoot or in the sand but it is a rare occurrence.
The Myers-Briggs Personality Spectrum assessment suggests that I am an Organizer. I agree with that. I need to have things neat and organized to feel like I am in control. Details are very... [continues]
