Completing the Pathway to Learning and Personality Spectrum Assessments, I discovered effective ways of communicating and collaborating with other learning types and personalities as well my own. The assessments helped me understand how, with intrapersonal intelligence, it’s easier to learn by reflecting on my personal meaning of information, studying in quiet environments, and visualizing information. I also, found that my personality is an adventurer. I am flexible and skillful. I learn more doing hands on activities and living in the present. In this paper, I will discuss how my learning style and personality type communicate and collaborate with three other learning types and personalities.
With a musical, visual-spatial and verbal –linguistic intelligence, the group may have their own way of communicating, but they each have something different to bring to the group. As an intrapersonal, I find it easier to communicate through email; it gives me time to think about what I want to say. In group collaboration, I can contribute in research. I like work independently finding materials that relate to self. A musical individual may like to communicate through video chat or on the phone. They can contribute to the group by adding music or sound to a presentation. They may find it easier to study, while listening to music or listening to books, than reading them. A visual- spatial may find it easier to communicate face to face, with email or picture messages. They can contribute to the group by using pictures, diagrams, or charts on a presentation or to explain research found for assignments. They find it easier to use charts and pictures, than reading. A verbal- linguistic can communicate with email, written letter, face to face, video chat, or over the phone. They can contribute to the group by presenting materials. They enjoy reading, and discussing topics.
