1. Abstract
This report is about gadget obsess children- the effect of gadget on the future generation. Base on a couple of journal for example the influence of technology on children’s health and Teens and Technology 2013. It was found out that gadget have positive and negative impact on the children and adolescent. The report provides an overview of the limited research on effect of gadgets use on children’s physical, cognitive, and social development. 2. Introduction

Nowadays, we can easily find children as young as 2 years old are playing with gadget anywhere. Today generation called “digital generation, the wired generation, electronic childhood and cyberkids”. The technology devices and gadgets include television, computer, IPad, mobile phone and video games. Children tend to be actively consuming, many technology products and gadgets’ commercials have been targeting young children and adolescents as their main market. Parent now are also using the gadgets to keep their children quiet and obedient. Gadgets can have both positive and negative effect on the youth. The positive effect of gadgets towards the children and adolescent are helping them to simulate their imagination. Some may help to enhance listening and speaking ability. Computers also can help children and adolescents in good academic performance such as math, science, art and writing. Besides that, technology devices and games play effect positively in encourage cognitive learning and development of analytical skills. This may help in building innovative thinking, investigative skills, strategic thinking and foster the creativity potential of children and adolescent. The negative of gadgets effect the children and adolescent are the times spend on the devices may curb outdoor activities and socializing with their families. Furthermore, children spend more time on the devices will impact their health issue such as obesity, seizures, hand injuries, and changes in heart rate. Gadgets also affect the children and adolescents sleeping disorders, self induced instant gratification which lead to addiction and poor nutrition habits. The negative impacts of technology devices on children also have improper development of language and social skill including lack of understanding of body language and lead to violent behaviors, stress, mental depression and anxiety. 3. Literature Review

From the journal The Impact of Home Computer Use on Children’s Activities and Development by Kaveri Subrahmanyam, Robert E.Kraut, Oatricia M.Greenfield and Elisheva F.Gross, points out the effect of computer use on children’s physical, cognitive, and social development. Children will spend more time on home computers may displace other activities that have more developmental value. Result from a national survey suggest that in 1999, children between ages 2 and 17 were spending approximately 1 hour 37 minutes per day using the computer and playing video games, about 24 minutes more than in 1998. Thus, the likelihood of displacing time spent on organized sports and other social activities also increasing, hence exacerbating the impact on children’s physical and social well-being.
