MINI-ESSAY
  1) Two Archetypal “children” of the characters and format of Archie are Spiderman’s love triangle with Mary Jane and Black Cat. This is similar because Spiderman (Peter Parker) has always had strong feelings for Mary Jane, even before he received super powers, on the other hand he has feelings for Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) and then Josie and the Pussy Cats triangle with Josie, Alex, and Albert. Josie and Albert have feelings for each other, and meanwhile Alex does everything in her power to sabotage Josie and Albert so that Alex can have a relationship with Albert.
  2) In Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns one American Institution that was broken down was the media
  3) EC Comics died, but Mad was born in its ashes, and changed American culture
  4) In America, Gatchaman was renamed G-Force: Guardians of Space in first-run syndication in the 1970s and broadcast on cable in the 1990s.
  5) Two visual/writing elements of Marvel’s Philosophy that all three of its founders contributed to were that they wrote out the plots to be more relatable and more believable to the readers in the sense that they made Peter Parker a young teen guy that had to deal with a huge responsibility (i.e. saving the city) while on the other hand dealing situations with his friends, family, and love interests. In addition, whereas DC Comics tried to show the positivity of science and how we should embrace it, Marvel showed how science ruined their lives and made them into something that they didn’t want to be.
