Communication can be delivered through several different ways such as in writing, face
to face, text and live meetings. Who is your audience, what are their background, their age and field of expertise? These are elements that must be researched before communication can begin to be successful in presenting the message. Excellent business communication means that the presenter understands that there are people with different cultures and they give and receive messages in different manners. Body language, tone of the presentation, and even the confidence of the writer are characteristics that must be considered when presenting to the audience. Communication must be designed to introduce a message to an audience that can be understood by all.
Diversity is a characteristic that must be considered when presenting a message to an audience. People with different backgrounds receive messages in different manners than others. Companies like to hire people with different backgrounds because this assures that different ideas and problem solving techniques will be developed. Diversity is an advantage when working within a team.
Your audience is the key to success whether you are working within a group or presenting important information to an audience. Knowing their culture, age, religion, education and beliefs of your audience will assure that the communication will be accepted with positive results.
A meeting held with stakeholders, managers, salespeople and customers the communication must be delivered so that the group understands and can relate to the message that is being presented. The channel of communication to deliver the information to this group is oral, overhead and handouts.
