Did you know that 1 in 5 kids around the world are not enrolled in primary school? That is 120-125 million children around the world! Education is a child’s right. There are so many reasons why children may not attend school. Children may not attend school because of the neighborhood they live in, learning materials could be scarce, schools can be overcrowded, and sometimes it is the parents fault. Parents need to take more responsibility for their children’s education. Going to school and instilling in them at a young age how important an education is may just help in the future. If a child doesn’t think that their own parents do not care about their education, how can they be expected to care? Teachers can only do so much. They cannot make parents care about education either. Education is one of the most important and crucial part of our future and should be supported to the fullest.
There are some parents that participate in their child’s education. Many parents participate because constant positive influence can help their child see the importance of a good education. When parents set an example for their children, they are helping to build a foundation of accomplishment. Children look up to their parents for direction and guidance. By setting a positive education setting, children will understand how important education is. Some parents do not participate in their child’s education because they didn’t graduate or finish school so when they look at their child’s homework, they don’t understand it and give up. There are parents that are uneducated themselves and then there are the parents who think the teacher is supposed to do it all. The best and most effective education will come from both the teachers and the parents. Both people play a very crucial part in a child’s education.
