Britt’s College’s Mission
1. What is your college's mission statement? The Guilford Technical Community College Foundation provides financial assistance to worthy students seeking their education, and to faculty and staff in areas not covered by state funds. The Foundation solicits and administers charitable gifts in accordance with the College’s mission and goals. Our mission is to help ensure educational excellence at Guilford Technical Community College. What resources does your college have that support its mission statement? The mission of the GTCC Foundation is to secure private funds to supplement ever diminishing state resources. They make certain that there are scholarships for students who would otherwise be unable to continue their education, underwrite new program initiatives so they will qualify for state funding, and equip new and renovated classrooms with the latest technologies. The Foundation also provides funding for professional development to make certain that their faculty and staff remain current with industry standards. This ensures that their students receive state-of-the-art training, preparing them for the demands of today’s workplace. The Foundation was chartered in 1966 as a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation. All gifts to the GTCC Foundation are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. 2. How would you describe your college's environment in terms of technology and of government regulations? GTCC makes sure that they are equipped with new and renovated classrooms with the latest technologies. They also provide funding for professional development to make certain that their faculty and staff remain current with industry standards. This ensures that their students receive state-of-the-art training, preparing them for the demands of today’s workplace. All technology systems are the most advanced to prepare students for life outside of the college environment and all government regulations are adhered to.
