Cold War
Mr. Friedman/Mrs. Marshall 4/10/12

My Name is Eric Novembre. I am sophomore in high school. Everyone can confirm that I am a average student but I am lazy. My favorite subjects are geometry and U.S. history. I am going to enter the University because my goal is to study my favorite subjects in future and to become a professional in this area.
I can say that I am a responsible and hard-working student. Moreover, being a sociable person, I have many friends since I like to communicate with people and get acquainted with new interesting individuals. I enjoy my time at school: it is really nice to study and the students are very friendly and ready to help. The atmosphere cannot but make me want to go there every time. I like to receive challenging tasks and cope with them. I am a very enthusiastic student and I think this is a strong point of mine.
My friends say I am a very funny with a good sense of humor. As soon as I meet new people who are up to me I feel extremely comfortable with them. I believe that friendship is one of the most important values in human life. We exchange new ideas, find many interesting things about each other, have new experiences. I appreciate friendship and people who surround me. I get okay grades only because I am not motivated and lazy but next year I will step it up.
Every time I do my best to be a straight, honest and principled person. I am a good kid to my parents and other elders. My family is a big part of my life and they help me a lot with school. They are real treasures in my life and I appreciate them so

Watching the duck and cover makes one think, would hiding under a desk or jacket against a wall really save someone. Seeing this makes one think if living during the time of a nuclear war would be desirable, not that one has the choice but it would have to be a thought. According to this duck and cover video, a nuclear bomb warning can happen at any time and one would find somewhere that was considered safe and a good distance from windows to duck and cover. If one saw a bright flash then they were to duck underneath any clothing available and against any type of structure as soon as they possibly could to protect themselves. This era had to be extremely stressful, especially for the young children this video was being shown too. This video had to wreak havoc on a child’s subconscious.…

How NSC-68 influenced America's response to Communist North Korea's invasion of South Korea in June 1950 and to Communist expansion in Southeast Asia in the 1960s. The NSC-68 called for military assistance programs that would meet the requirements of our allies. Since South Korea was an ally, we assisted them in repelling the invasion of another communist nation. This help for South Korea meant that a communist nation would be weakened and therefore possibly cripple a potential ally for the Soviet Union. Also, South Korea would then respond to a call for aid if the Soviet Union ever attacked America.…

I like being a student because it gives me an opportunity to meet new groups of people and learn new things. I’m a real extravert person and I like to have friends beside me when I have class, lunch, or do any activities. I can say that I always spend most of my time with friends at school. When I have to stay alone, I have no confidence to do anything because I’m a person who likes to discuss with my friends and ask them for opinions about everything I’m going to do, both matters involving school and private things. Moreover, my friends’ advices or comments have an effect in making any decisions as they make me think and reconsider my decisions more carefully. For example, when I face a problem and I try to seek a solution, I always come to ask friends for a way out and their advices, often, become my solutions. In additional, I’m a person who prefers speaking over writing because it’s easier and faster.…
