St Jude Children’s Research Hospital organization shows their social responsibility for its community through their treatment and research of childhood cancers and catastrophic diseases. Their communities consist of all of America’s children and the children of the world. St. Jude created an international outreach program, with the modern technology of an interactive Website which is called Cure4kidsorg; it is a meeting place for physicians using live internet feed to clinical discussions of patients with the need of their expertise and research of catastrophic diseases and cancers. St. Jude is leading the way for research hospitals with what they call on-site goods manufacturing Practices, which produces medicines that has nothing to do with any pharmaceutical companies. They discovered an enzyme called ATM this enzyme responds to DNA that has been damage do to radiation is helping to develop way to treat all cancers more effective. St. Jude’s basic cancer research has provided discoveries that have been beneficial in the treatment of adult cancers. St Jude’s also is one of six hospitals that research influenza, for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease. This year St. Jude’s hosted Cure4kids Global Summit, for three days they attractive educators, scientists, physician, along with health organization leaders with the goals of improving the community and the schools health education programs. Some of the topic that was highlighted at the summit they feel the use of social media to help in promoting and educate on healthy living. This program is to try and teach children on the how cancer works and how eating healthy now can help cure and may even prevent some cancers and diseases later in life.
